The YWCA of Greater Memphis Abused Women's Services (YWCA-AWS) is dedicated to eradicating domestic violence.  As visionaries in this struggle, we do this by providing dedicated and optimal services, empowering women to make educated decisions about their lives and educating the community on the effects of domestic violence.  We believe that programs and services offered to victims of domestic violence must be client-centered as well as empowering.  YWCA-AWS is committed to the values of integrity, quality, and excellence in service to abused women and their children, and the possibility of success in achieving our mission.

Mission driven programs and services to support women have been provided since 1919.  Since 1982, the YWCA of Greater Memphis has worked to break the cycle of violence for women, children and families through programs offered under the umbrella of AWS.

Abused Women’s Services is a multi-faceted program consisting of four (4) major components:

Services available through these programs include but are not limited to crisis counseling, individual and group counseling, shelter, food, transportation, clothing, navigation through judicial system, social service referrals and education/information on domestic violence.
